Pak-Afghanistan tension, Torkham Bard, and the current state of Pakistan
The lion's family will also arrive soon. And they attack the dogs so brutally that, at the very first attack, the dogs run away from the forest.
Take a look at the current state of affairs. There is unrest among Kashmiris, similar tensions have arisen in Gilgit, and the situation in KPK has been volatile for some time. But the root cause remains overlooked. What is the underlying issue here?
The core problem lies in Pakistan's deteriorating economic standing. But what has led to this decline in Pakistan's economic condition? This is a profound question that has confounded many, with no clear answers readily available.
A few decades ago, Afghan laborers used to seek employment opportunities in Pakistan, and the Pakistani currency was regarded highly by Bengalis. However, Pakistan's currency has recently experienced a significant depreciation, akin to the rapid hair loss of a balding head.
Today, Afghanistan's economy is experiencing significant growth, with its currency now surpassing that of India. Conversely, Pakistan's currency has deteriorated, posing a grave concern.
The issue is exacerbated by the illicit transfer of dollars from Pakistan to Afghanistan, exemplified by cases such as Ayan Ali's involvement in Dubai smuggling. Furthermore, when we examine the present circumstances, including the smuggling of essential commodities like wheat and sugar into Afghanistan, it becomes evident that Pakistan bears a substantial share of responsibility for its current predicament.
Currently, the situation is quite challenging for people. Even those who are employed professionals are struggling to make ends meet when it comes to covering their household expenses. When we consider the plight of unemployed individuals in these circumstances, it raises questions about how they manage their household finances.
While this may not be the primary topic of discussion today, it is undeniably intertwined with the ongoing economic challenges in Pakistan and the hardships faced by its citizens. As a result of these circumstances, Pakistan finds itself grappling with these challenges. Part of the issue can be attributed to the inconsistent policies within Pakistan itself. For instance, while the PTI flag was prohibited in the nation's capital, PTM supporters openly chanted slogans against our institutions and displayed foreign flags. Imran Khan is currently incarcerated, while Nawaz Sharif is enjoying his time in London despite his conviction. It's essential to clarify that we're not advocating for criminals to go unpunished. Those who commit crimes should face the appropriate consequences. However, the perception of double standards can contribute to corruption within the country. Our courts and institutions are fully cognizant of this issue.
However, in the current situation, Pakistan is facing similar problems from all sides. Pakistan has been hollowed out from within. Its economy has been destroyed. Its institutions are weakened, and the condition of the people is very poor. Now the tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan can have very wrong results, because both sides are inhabited by members of the same family, and in a situation where the economy of one country is deteriorating, and the economy of the other country is developing. So the impact of the situation can reach the people directly. Both are Islamic states and a clash between the two could lead to a major tragedy.
The statement made by Afghanistan's Chief of Staff on national television suggests that Afghanistan is making progress, partially attributed to the influx of dollars and goods through smuggling from Pakistan, as well as the disarmament efforts by the United States. This has bolstered a sense of pride among the Afghan people. The stubbornness of the Afghans can mainly be attributed to the covert support of the US and the presence of weapons left behind. However, the most important factor in their obstinacy is our own economic and political decline.
Currently, Pakistan resembles a wounded lion encircled by dogs in the forest. Nevertheless, it is expected that the nation will soon unify and confront all the challenges that lie ahead. Together, they will fight back against the dogs that are constantly posing new issues and encircling Pakistan from all sides, dispelling the myth that the country is fragile and wounded. Will become one.
